Aer Lingus Passport Requirement
06 February, 2026
Notice from Club Travel
We wish to inform you of a new requirement announced by Aer Lingus in relation to accepted forms of identification.
From 25 February 2026, Aer Lingus will require all passengers to present a valid passport or an Irish passport card when travelling on Common Travel Area (CTA) routes. The Common Travel Area is an open borders area comprising the United Kingdom, Ireland, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands.
This means that the following forms of identification will no longer be valid for travel on these routes: Driver’s licence, Government‑issued photo ID cards and/or any other previously accepted form of photo identification.
Effective 25 February 2026 only a passport or Irish passport card will be accepted.
