R&D Projects
The Self-Financing Office manages all research and self-financing activities for the Institute. It provides support to budget holders, Project Managers and Principal Investigators to manage budgets, internal reporting requirements and external reporting requirements to funding agencies. It ensures that the Institute is compliant with the financial rules of grant awards under a variety of project programmes and with a variety of funding agencies.
The Institute's normal procedures for purchasing, payments and travel expenses apply to research & development and self-financing projects. For further information, please refer to the Policy and Procedures section.
Research grant income and self-financing income is received from various funding agencies and/or sponsors. Examples include but are not limited to:
- Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM)
- Enterprise Ireland (EI)
- Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
- European Commission (EU)
- Higher Education Authority (HEA)
- Industry / Commercial Sponsors (COMM) (i.e. direct funded projects)
- Irish Research Council (IRC)
- Leargas (LE)
- National Forum for Teaching & Learning (NFTL)
- Science Foundation Ireland (SFI)
- Teagasc (TE)
